Dr. McGowan, a founding member of the Operation Andrew Board of Trustees, assumed the Presidency after he "retired" as Senior Pastor of Christ Presbyterian Church where he served for over 15 years.  He served as an officer in U.S. Army intelligence following graduation from Davidson College.  Before entering Columbia Theological Seminary, he served for several years with the Office of Naval Intelligence.  Now, after over forty years as pastor of a local church, he enjoys focusing on his passion of seeing walls that separate Christians broken down so that the fulfillment of prayer of Jesus (John 17:21) might be evident for all to see.

While remaining active in the Presbyterian Church in America, he ministers broadly to the Body of Christ in Nashville and across the nation. He and his wife Alice have been married for 50 years and delight in God's gift of four children and sixteen grandchildren.

Bob Cook was born and reared in Springfield, Tennessee, one of three children, and the son of a Baptist minister and wife. He graduated from Greenbrier High School in 1964, from Tennessee Temple University in 1969, and from Temple Theological Seminary in 1972. Bob returned to his hometown and home church in Springfield to follow his father as pastor of Tabernacle Baptist Church from 1972-1981. In October, 1976, the mother church started a mission congregation in White House, Tennessee, the Tri-County Baptist Church (The Church at Grace Park). After pastoring both congregations for nearly 5 years, Bob began pastoring the daughter congregation full time in 1981 and has pastored it until the present.

In 2001, Bob began serving on the Operation Andrew Board as the Vice-Chairman and later became a part-time employee of OA serving on staff as Vice-President.
