Operation Andrew Group (OAG), formed twenty years ago for the purpose of encouraging racial reconciliation and unity in Christ, cannot remain silent during this current crisis.
The beauty of the diversity in the Kingdom of God highlights that each of us is both wonderfully and fearfully created in the image of God, and we all deserve equal dignity and worth.
As believers, we are one in Christ.
Believers in Jesus often pray, “Lord, please break our hearts for the things that grieve yours.” For the Operation Andrew Group board and staff, our hearts ache and we lament with our African American brothers and sisters that experience racism and social injustice. There is no place for racism in our society or congregations.
As an organization, we commit to listen, learn, and engage. We will link arms in unity to serve and show our love for our neighbors. We will seek to find practical ways to eradicate racism in our community.
Lord, help us join you to unify your children and live out John 17:21, “That all of them may be one. Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.”
