New Season Church Provides Food Support after Ice Storm!

In late January, Nashville experienced a major ice storm. Three-quarters an inch of ice coated power lines and trees, resulting in loss of power for over 230,000 residents. Power restoration efforts are ongoing and thousands of Nashvillians did not have power for ten days or more. Destruction to vehicles and homes makes this a long road to recovery for many.

Wanting to offer some relief and support to those most impacted by the storm, New Season Church hosted multiple mobile markets, providing high quality food for hundreds of Nashvillians. Partnering with One Gen Away, New Season set up food distribution events on Wednesday and Friday. Thousands of pounds of meat, fresh produce, milk, and other food were given away. For so many who lost food due to the power outages, this was a huge blessing.

Several Operation Andrew Group staff members joined to volunteer. New Season Church is a dear friend of Operation Andrew Group as their pastor, Dwayne Lewis, is a staff member with United4Pastors. They are also a United4Hope partner church with Ivanetta H. Davis Early Learning Center. New Season is a pillar in the Bordeaux community and we are grateful for their generosity and partnership!
