Oak Project Builds Community
Research from the State of Nashville reports that 80% of Gen Z and 65% of Millennials are lonely. It’s evident that creating community in Nashville is not easy; especially if you are a newcomer…of any age. In response to this phenomenon, the Oak Project is building opportunities that can improve social-emotional well-being through meaningful relationships.
All Oak events are designed for self-development and connection.Currently there are 2 active Cohorts, with nearly 100 participants. The Oak Project’s intergenerational pairings provide mutual benefits where all are seen, heard, and encouraged to live out their purpose with support.
Well-being is enhanced through good social experiences and enriched relationships. As an initiative of Operation Andrew Group, the Oak Project has been called to respond to this need beyond the smaller pairings of mentor and mentees. We now offer peer and intergenerational events that will build broader relationships to decrease the staggering statistics noted above.
We invite you to partner with us in moving that statistical needle by considering 3 things:
- Jump in yourself and join our SEPTEMBER COHORT by applying here.
- Invite a member of the younger or older generation who you think would benefit from expanding their community.
- Support the growing impact of Oak, by donating to Open Circle. When you donate you accelerate our pay-it-forward model, which helps even more mentees participate.
Lastly, we ask that you pray for the program and participants throughout the year. Our hope is that each one experiences the blessings of connection and community as wrought together by the Holy Spirit; because no one in the Body of Christ need be lonely.
