Partnership Highlight: Apollo Middle School and Living Water Temple Church
Pastor Riley Baxter III of Living Water Temple Church has a conviction to aid in the alleviation of food insecurity in the city. He has been working with United4Hope Program Manager, Jenny Runyon, to partner with MNPS.
Recently Pastor Riley and his church donated food bags to Apollo Middle School. Communities in Schools Program Manager Heather McCall reports that these food bags are a tremendous blessing for the students headed home for Spring Break next week. Heather works hard to ensure that the students at Apollo have the resources that they need, and her load is lightened when partners such as Living Water Temple come alongside her to support her strategic plan.
Though breaks are a welcome reprieve for students and teachers alike, they represent special challenges for students who count on school to provide them with meals and other resources. We are thankful for our schools and churches who ensure that the whole student is cared for all the time.
Ms. Verge, STARS restorative practices assistant at Apollo Middle, helps to distribute Spring Break food bags donated by Living Water Temple Church.
