The Franklin Special District & United4Hope hosted a church recruitment event

In honor of Black History month, on Thursday, February 27, 14 churches came to the newly built Franklin Special District (FSD) building to learn how they could volunteer. Churches were given the option to support 1 of the 8 schools and/or support district level initiatives. It was a sight to see!

One pastor asked how we as a community could support young black students because too many are falling through the cracks. Churches are seeing an increase in funerals and we as a community want to address this crisis.Ā Ā

The FSD is in the top 1% of TNā€™s most diverse districts. Research shows that school districts that have more community partners and community support have an increased rate in behavior outcomes, grades, and attendance for students. If a student can have one reliable and trusted mentor, it greatly improves their chances of thriving. We believe every human being has dignity and worth, therefore we believe in supporting the families and staff that are touched by the Franklin Community. Your church would be able to live out its mission in the community by serving those most in need.

A special thank you to FSD Chairman, Robert Blair, for engaging his connections and for meeting with United4Hope for several months to plan this event.
