U4H Partners Providing Food Ahead of the Storm!
Many students rely on schools for healthy food each day during the school week. Providing nutritious food for students is a critical and essential service. Therefore, it was not only very timely but much appreciated when community partners joined together to support Metro Nashville Public Schools and their families with their Winter Weather Food Box Distribution ahead of the winter storm that swept across Nashville and the Middle Tennessee area.
The food boxes were sponsored by Second Harvest Food Bank, and on January 22nd, the distribution took place at two of our U4H partner schools; Robert Churchwell Museum Magnet Elementary and Wright Middle School. Many community partners stopped by to help with the effort, including Moses McKissack Middle School, Belmont University, PENCIL, Mt Bethel and our very own U4H Program Manager, Dr. Cassetta Russell, among many others.
When communities and schools join together, they create a network of support which enhances the well- being of all involved. Pictured below are just a few of the community partners who helped to distribute these vitally important food boxes.
