21 Days of Prayer // Day 5

“We cared so deeply that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God, but our own lives as well. That is how beloved you have become to us.”
1 Thessalonians 2:8

Lord God,
We are so grateful that we were created for community and that we were not left to navigate this world alone. And God, we thank you for the opportunity to be in relationships where we can grow, where someone’s hindsight can become our foresight, where someone can come alongside and walk with us, not just far in front of us, but by sharing their own lives with us. We thank you for the endless examples of generations pouring into each other that we have through Scripture, whether it is Paul and Timothy, Elijah and Elisha, Naomi and Ruth… and so many more. The narrative of Scripture is full of stories of investing in the lives of the generations.

We thank you for this new school year – for the opportunity to invest in relationships. And for the opportunity for thoughtful, wise, loving adults to come alongside students and support them in their learning and in becoming who you have created them to be. We pray that every student would not only be known, but that they would know that they are cared for and supported and loved as they walk in and through our world, navigating all the joys, opportunities, and challenges ahead of them. May students this school year know that they are surrounded by churches and the Body of Christ who cares for them and can encourage them to flourish in every aspect of life.

In your Son’s name we pray…
…amen
