Church Food Drive Program for MNPS | May 2020
Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) has been a main resource hub for weekly hot meals and individual home deliveries for our families that do not have transportation across the district. Because students are not in school and families have an additional burden of feeding their students twice a day, they have received an overwhelming amount of food requests. The ongoing power outages leave families even more vulnerable as their food supplies can be compromised.
In order to meet the demand, MNPS is seeking support from our church partners to assist in hosting a food drive to support MNPS students and families. Your collaboration is important, as the decision has been made to close all schools for the remainder of the school year. This means district staff do not have access to school buildings to support efforts.
We are thankful that many of you have already agreed to serve as storage and distributions sites and currently are contributing your time and effort in supporting some of our schools. If you are interested in hosting a food drive for MNPS, please complete the form below. We have been informed by MNPS leadership that efforts to provide food to families will continue through the summer.
