Even in old age they will still produce fruit; they will remain vital and green. They will declare, “The Lord is just! He is my rock!

Psalm 92:14-15

The WHY - Purpose

Mentors in the Oak Project have a heart to partner with Jesus to increase their personal purpose. They are Christians who intentionally pursue Jesus and are called to invest in the next generation.

As they model Jesus by pouring into others, the Oak Project pours into them by offering support, connection, and opportunity to share their expertise, as well as learn from others. Through their participation in Oak Project, the majority of mentors have a greater sense of purpose, increased energy, and an increased sense of God's pleasure, along with more empathy for the younger generation.

"Oak Project has kept me on the journey of knowing that God still wants to work in me, wants to use me, wants me to journey with people." - Mentor

The WHO - People

Mentors represent various backgrounds, from corporate professionals to creatives and those who may, or may not, be in the workforce. They are willing to show up regularly, be themselves, and bring Jesus. Mobilizing and igniting this resilient generation has proven to inspire 75% of Oak Project mentees. In turn, they themselves are richly fulfilled with purpose, while being equally blessed by the younger generation.

"I think when I started, I felt that my lack of professional experience disqualified me; however, I came to realize that life experiences are a valuable teacher. If there are areas in my life that can be a tool for teaching/sharing, that is a gift to be able to share." - Mentor

The HOW - Process

Applying to become a mentor includes a 4 STEP vetting process:

  1. Take the READINESS SURVEY
  2. Complete the Oak Project Program APPLICATION
  3. Participate in a ZOOM CALL with a member of the Oak Project vetting team.
  4. Complete a BACKGROUND CHECK.

Once you have been vetted for the program you will attend an online orientation and then be paired up with your two mentees at the following Oak Project Pairing Event.
